First of all, thanks to all of you who supported me at the Portland Saturday Market and on this website.
This started out as a hobby. In 1991 I sold a guitar and bought a camera kit. After hundreds of photo outings, thousands of frames shot and untold hours at the computer I have accumulated these images. Most of these were taken in my backyard (dragonflies/hummingbirds) and the Portland area.
Some of these images are alternative forms of photography (polaroid sx70, composite, double exposure, light painting, digital filters and techniques). Others are pretty much left alone. Everything goes through Photoshop.
There's something about the whole random nature of fractals that really appeals to me. A lot of the photography on this site comes from a serendipidous path.
I have used film, digital and polaroid cameras. I print digitally at home using an Epson 4900 with Epson UltraChrome HDR inks on satin photo paper. The greeting cards are glossy inkjet paper with a blank/writeable inside. The fractals were rendered using fractal software on my computer using a unique formula, some taking as long as 30 hours to render.
Come and see me at the Portland Saturday Market which is open Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 11am to 4:30 pm from March 1st till Christmas Eve. My booth for 2014 is #503 and is located under the Burnside Bridge by Naito Parkway. Let me hear what you think!
